At the time of year when the crocus start to pop, red bud trees start to break, daffodils sprout up and the smell of delicious chocolate confections wafts through the air, it is time for the well-known and well attended Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival.
The Chocolate Festival will be held at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on Saturday, March 02, 2013. Doors open at 11:30 am and close at 3:30 pm for sampling the most delicious confections our town has to offer. Restaurateurs, professional bakers, amateur bakers and even young bakers will compete for the top prizes to be awarded for the best chocolate creations. The public gets to sample any or all of the entries by purchasing tickets for each sample.
In what has been a long standing tradition since the inception of the festival, the Village Improvement Association (VIA) has been a major supporter and participant in this event. It has been a cornerstone fundraising project for our club for many years and our first major fundraiser of the year. In return for providing volunteers for cutting the samples of the festival entrants' confections, we are provided a table front and center from which we sell our delicious home baked goods and VIA cookbooks.

We have always surprised and delighted our customers. Many come back year after year looking for a favorite from a previous year or looking to try something new. Our VIA bakers' reputation for delicious home baked goods has spread far and wide.
A trip to the Chocolate Festival each year is a delight to all who attend. Just remember to inhale when you walk into the Convention Center. It tells the whole story of what it is all about. It will make you want to come again and again.
