Get Ready for the Chicken Plunge
CHICKEN PLUNGE AND BEACH PARTY
PRIZES GALORE
Chicken Plungers of all ages will be entering the ocean at 1:00pm on Sunday, September 9 at Grenoble Place and the Boardwalk. If you’re chicken to enter the ocean in the winter, this is the plunge for you.
Pools will be available for those older and younger chickens who can’t plunge in the sea. One toe touching water counts. Sign up to win great prizes!
Come join the Chicken Plunge Beach Party from 10:00am to 3:00pm. There will be children’s games, food, kite demonstrations, and an appearance by members of the band, Love Seed Mama Jump, from 12 to 3:00pm.
A Grand Prize will be given to the person who raises the most money. The winner and a guest will receive a complete package for a weekend in downtown Rehoboth Beach during the off season (Oct 1, 2012 to May 1, 2013). The Grand Prize package includes 2 nights at the Avenue Inn and Spa, breakfasts at The Crystal Restaurant and Sammy’s Kitchen, lunches at Louie’s Pizza and Sammy’s Kitchen, dinners at Henlopen City Oyster House and Dos Locos, 3 pounds of fudge from the Sea Shell Shop, miniature golf at Shell We Golf, and jewelry from Valhalla.
A Pizza Party at Nicola’s Pizza will go to the largest group who participates. Each plunger in the group also will receive a round of miniature golf at Shell We Golf. (All Chicken Plunge groups need to register the name of the group prior to the plunge and all members must submit their own pledges to qualify).
The youngest plunger will receive a Grand Prize of Gift Certificates from Grandma’s Corner Toys at the Sea Shell Shops, Rehoboth Toys and Kites, Gidget’s Gadgets, Lilypad Children's Boutique and a stuffed animal from Browseabout Books. There are also prizes for the Second and Third place winners.
Great dinners for two will be the Grand Prize for the oldest plunger. This winner will receive Gift Certificates for Mariachi’s, The Cultured Pearl, Salt Air, Grotto’s Pizza, and Victoria’s Restaurant in the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel.
